837 Iraqis Hospitalized After Suffocation from Severe Dust Storm
(MENAFN) A powerful dust storm sweeping across Iraq sent 837 people to hospital with suffocation symptoms Tuesday, the country's health ministry announced, though authorities confirmed no fatalities have been recorded.
All affected individuals were discharged following medical treatment, the ministry said in an official statement, adding that health departments in the capital Baghdad and across multiple provinces have been placed on heightened alert as the country braces for a second consecutive day of hazardous dusty conditions.
